Baby Milestones Are Important – But They Aren’t Everything

Are you worried that your baby’s development is not where it should be? Wonder what this means for his or her future?

Don’t fret. Try to avoid comparing your baby’s development to other infants.

It is a better idea to compare individual milestones from the previous week or month.

You should remember  that babies develop at different rates.

NOTE: Infant Development Is Divided Into Four Categories:
Social, Language, Large Motor Development, and Small Motor Development

BABY – FIRST MONTH

ADVANCED SKILLS

  • Holds Head At 45 Degree Angle

BABY –  TWO MONTHS

  • Can Vocalise Sounds
  • Follows Objects
  • Holds Head Up (only for short periods of time)

EMERGING SKILLS
  • Holds Head At 45 Degree Angle
  • Has Smooth Movements
  • Smiles Responsively
  • Laughs

ADVANCED SKILLS
  • Can Do Mini Push Ups (lifts head and shoulders)
  • Holds Head Steady
  • Can Bear Weight On Legs

BABY –  THREE MONTHS
