10 Unforgettable Things To Do Before You Kick The Bucket

Pin Kick The Bucket

So what do you plan on doing before you kick the bucket?

Have you put much thought into it? I have. There are many things I want to do before I kick the bucket so I have had to break my list up list of ten.

In 2014, I completed by first Bucket List, and I am happy to say I set those goals and achieved them.

I decided to create a new Bucket List of things I want to see and do. I am hoping to complete this list before I turn 40 – this gives me about 7 years to go.

There are so many things I want to see so I narrowed them down to my Top 10.

 1. Aurora Borealis

Before I kick the bucket, I want to see the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights.

They are best seen in the winter time in Norway, Finland and Sweden.

The Northern Lights are collisions between electrically charged particles from the sun that enter the earth’s atmosphere, seen above the magnetic poles of the northern and southern hemispheres.

They are known as Aurora borealis in the north and ‘Aurora australis’ in the south.
Auroral displays appear in many colours although pale green and pink are the most common.

 2. Christ The Redeemer

This statue of Jesus stands some 38 meters tall, atop the Corcovado mountain overlooking Rio de Janeiro.

Designed by Brazilian Heitor da Silva Costa and created by French sculptor Paul Landowski.

 3. Name A Star

Now why would I want to do this before I kick the bucket? Even though I don’t understand it all,  I am in awe of stars and the galaxy.

Civilizations around the world have named stars, planets, and constellations.

Now you can name one for yourself, friends, and family through the star registry.

Name A Star

 4. Float In The Dead Sea

The Dead Sea – yes before I kick the bucket and am dead, I would love to float here.

The Dead Sea, also known as the Salt Sea, is a salt lake bordering Jordan to the east and Israel and the West Bank to the west.

The unusually high salt concentration means that people can easily float in the Dead Sea.

 5. Scuba Dive The Great Barrier Reef

Maybe I should go snorkeling…that would be more appropriate for a  novice like me who has never been Scuba Diving.

The Great Barrier Reef is considered to be the most beautiful reef in the world.

The reef sites are selected for their abundance of marine life and diversity of healthy corals.

 6. Save A Life

Whether by donating blood or organs, this one is self-explanatory as to why it is a great thing to do.

Why let someone kick the bucket when given the opportunity to save them?

 7. Go Skydiving

I don’t expect to do this more than once.

Neither do I have the desire solo skydive, so tandem skydiving would be best for me.

The professional skydiver/instructor does all the work and I just hang along for the ride!

 8. Own My Own Business

I would love to own my own business in order to do what I love on a daily basis.

Set my own work and life balance, choosing the people I work with, but most of all, having more time for my son.

 9. Visit Every Continent

This is definitely one I am dying (no pun intended) to complete before I kick the bucket, or before turning 40!

I have 4 out of 7 so far. Still have Antarctica, Australia, and South America to complete.

 10. Hang From Toronto’s CN Tower

Toronto’s tallest attraction is a great option for people like me seeking a thrill. from 356 meters – 1,168 feet above the ground.

Have you been to any of these places? Done any of these things and crossed them off your bucket list?

What are your plans on things to do before you kick the bucket?

Go ahead and PIN THIS for later, you might need some interesting ideas while creating your list, or may help someone with theirs.

Ooo this makes me aware of what I still need to do too. I totally agree with your #1 and #5 – those are on my need-to-do soon list 😀 Personally I want to do a two-week long hike somewhere, go on a road trip with a campervan, and visit all continents as well! What a fun post to get the pondering going 😉

The Aurora is very high on my things to see before I’m 30, and that’s in about 8 months. I would love to go to Iceland and let myself be amazed by the beauty of the colorful sky at night. I would love to be able to stay in one of those see-through igloos from where you can watch the aurora from your bed.

Aurora Borealis is very beautiful. I’ve never seen anything like it in my place. I think Aurora more beautiful than a rainbow. Is Aurora there always appear every day or on certain days?

Sheri! You should not be thinking about kicking the bucket just yet, you have so much time on your hands to experience and do all of these things! Although it’s so good that you have pinpointed exactly what you want to do and are working toward it. Aurora Borealis has definitely got to be up there on my list!

A few friends of mine have done the CN edge walk! It is definitely a memorable experience but it is not something I would want to pay for. I would love to float in the dead sea too! I’d also love to skydive before I die!

I love this list, it’s incredibly motivating! I would love to do everything you mentioned, though I’m horrifically scared of heights these days, so I’m not sure about skydiving and dangling of tall buildings! What a great feeling is to know though that we have so much time to do incredible things!

I am so blessed to have done some of these! CN tower is in my home town and I have done the edgewalk as scary as that is! I have snorkeled in the Great Barrier Reef. Can’t scuba dive due to claustrophobia, but snorkeling counts 🙂 owning my own business – yep, although I hope it gets a little more rewarding!

  20. Reply

Loving this list. Snorkeling in the Dead Sea and visiting all the continents are also on my bucket list!

  21. Reply

Not sure how down I’d be to float in the Dead Sea 😉 I’ve scuba dived in the Great Barrier Reef! The recent “obituary” to it was quite depressing. Get out there before it’s too late!

How nice that you’re on bucket list #1 all done and dusted. I like your #2 bucket list except for skydiving and hanging from the tower lol

I’ve been to Canada, but no where else on the list. Definitely visiting every continent is on my list. I also want to take a cruise and run a marathon! 🙂 it’s interesting to make a list of things to accomplish but I’m no where close to crossing any of them off!

Cianna, I really want to go to Canada. 🙂 One of the things I need to cross off my list. You might not be close to crossing them off today, but who know what next year will bring, an opportunity may come your way to make one of these things happen! If not, we can still dream right?

Thats a great bucket list right there! I have done some of them, and others are on my list as well.
    1. Aurora Borealis – Yup, lived in the northernmost town in the world for 8 years so I can safely say been there, done that 🙂
    2. Christ the redeemer – yup been there too. Was inches from a major carcrash coming down. They drive like friggin maniacs!
    3. Name A Star – 5 years ago I maned a star after my BF as a Valentines gift for him. That is one that is hard to top!
    4. Float In The Dead Sea – I have floated and snorkeled in the Red Sea, does that count? It also has a higher salt-content then normal.
    5. Scuba Dive The Great Barrier Reef – also on my list 🙂
    6. Save A Life – I have provided first aid, and I have donated both blood and breatmilk. Don’t know if that contributed to actually saving lives, but I like to think that it helped somewhat.
    7. Go Skydiving – oh no! I prefer paragliding, that way you have lifet before your feet leave ground.
    8. Own My Own Business – nope, not for me. To have abook published would be my entry on this bucket-list entry 🙂
    9. Visit Every Continent – I lack Australia and Antarctica
    10. Hang From Toronto’s CN Tower – nope, I do not have a deathwish!
